Lend a Hand

1️⃣ We split into teams with volunteers. 4 groups went around picking up rubbish, debris from the flood, and unblocking drainages. They filled up the rubbish bags so quickly that one team came back for more bags in just 30 minutes. 2️⃣ Some houses in the Waimoko Glen had been flooded twice and needed extra support so we sent a team of 5 men to help pull carpets, toss out whiteware, and a whole lot more. They were greeted by the residents and dozens of other volunteers to battle the cleanup together. 3️⃣ One team stationed themselves at the Ranui Library handing out over 200 free sausages and sharing positive energy to the Ranui residents, and greeting our volunteers when they came back from their hard work. It was exciting to see hundreds of people volunteering all over Auckland to help clean up and a tremendous experience for Reconnect to be a part of that movement! We’d like to thank our volunteers who weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty for their neighbours👏👏 Reconnect will be creating more movements like this to bring cheers and joy, and tackle any field that needs a bit of love❤️
